I just caught this one as my first episode after hearing you guys on the Dice Tower. Loved it! Love the interaction between the four of you. It sounds like the four of you are really good friends and the chemistry really comes through. I wasn’t even planning to buy Bruges but you guys convinced me. The only negative is the sound quality could be better. Keep up the good work. I’ll definitely be listening.
We continue to work on sound quality, so stick with us, we will keep getting better. Thanks for your kind words, we are good friends and enjoy doing this together. As to Bruges, pick it up; it is not too expensive and great fun to play.
I have 2 pet peeves that I thought for sure you’d mention.
1. People who either during the reading of the rules or during gameplay say “oh that’s a stupid rule.” For example this happened during carcassonne when someone tried to place a meeple in an already occupied feature. Not only is it a rule, but it’s the backbone of the gameplay. I mostly get this from non gamers who hate the idea of playing anything other then monopoly or scrabble or standard card games.
2. People who have no awareness of their bodies and are constantly knocking pieces over or moving tiles out of alignment.
I (Patrick) totally concur on the 1st one. Critique the game, that is fine, but NOT while the game is at table and NOT before you have played it at least a few times.
It seems there’s something wrong with the mp3. It’s less than a meg and only about a minute long. The filename is bppp-bruges-output.mp3.
I heard this episode when it first aired, and now that I’ve played Bruges with my wife, I wanted to let her hear all of your opinions on it. So I would greatly appreciate getting the full episode. 🙂 Thanks!
Thanks for the heads up. The file has been replaced, please let us know if you have any other problems.
Thanks!
