Pirates of Maracaibo Board Game
Avast ye scurvy dogs and Welcome to Pirates of Maracaibo, a game of swashbuckling adventure and plunder in the Caribbean. In this Pirates of Maracaibo, players take on the role of a pirate captain, sailing the seas, raiding settlements, and amassing treasure.
In Pirates of Maracaibo, the game board, made up of cards that the players can purchase, represents the Caribbean Sea, with various islands, settlements, and sea zones. You'll use your ships to sail around the board, exploring islands, collecting treasure and growing your crew.
Turns are simple in Pirates of Maracaibo - On every turn players must said their ship - moving 1-3 spaces, with at least one of the moves progressing them to a column in the right - the pirates are always floating towards Maracaibo! Depending on which card the player lands on, different actions may occur - The 3 different types of cards that players will land on and encounter are:
- Improvement Cards - These may be upgraded crew, new equipment or ship upgrades. Very important to make your ship and crew a little more piratey!
- Residence Cards - This is where a pirate flexes his piratey ability and spends all the money he’s collected to purchase a dazzling residence in a beautiful port city. Many piratey victory points for owning such a storied residence!
- Location Cards - Your most common destination - This is where the treasure is! Explore the island by rolling the dice and selecting your rewards, including but not limited to the possibility of burying your booty - making it worth even more at the end of the game!
Pirates of Maracaibo ends after 3 rounds, The player with the most gold at the end of the game wins was clearly the most successful pirate captain and is crowned victor of Pirates of Maracaibo!
And now lets head back to the rest of the Pegs and find out if they felt piratey while burying that booty!
