Northgard: Uncharted Lands
1:32:38 – Rules Gist
Northgard: Uncharted Lands is designed by Adrian Dinu, published by Studio H, and brought to the US by Hachette Games.
Based on the universe of the Northgard video game, Northgard: Uncharted Lands is a game of conquest and exploration set in the age of vikings. Each player controls a Viking clan, looking to achieve victory by reaping glory.
The game ends in two ways, the first player to control three closed territories with large buildings or at the end of round seven, the victor being the one with the most fame points.
Each player starts the game with a small deck of cards containing one unique card special to their clan. Also each clan has a special ability that they can use through out the game. The resources in the game are wood for building buildings, apples for feeding workers and giving fighting bonuses, and lore to help modify your deck.
On their turn, each player can do one action. The main action typically will be playing a card. These cards will help you recruit units, build various helpful buildings, move around the board, explore by putting more ties out to expand the map, draw more cards and kind of devious and/or beneficial special actions.
Other actions you can do is to spend lore to draw a new card, cull a card, or upgrade a card with one of your two special clan cards.
You can also pass. When a player passes they get to pick a new development card that will go into their deck. When everyone passes the year is done.
Then you have the harvest phase when you get to collect the resources and fame points for territories you control.

So good! Very much enjoyed this episode. While I’m sorry that we couldn’t see Christina at PPCON, it was a wonderful event and Robb and Kevin brought their A Game, no pun intended.
